Broughton Farm Caravan Park is a family-owned caravan holiday park located on the stunning Gower Peninsula, South Wales. The Gower Peninsula was the first region in the UK to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1956. The park has been under the stewardship of the same family since 1918, and it continues to thrive with the involvement of the fifth generation.
OVERVIEW
Client: Broughton Farm Caravan Park
Industry: Caravan Holiday Park
Location: Gower Peninsula, Swansea, South Wales
Caravan plots: 250 privately owned plots
Family ownership: Operated by the same family since 1918, now in its 5th generation
THE CHALLENGE
The park needed a robust access control system to manage entry while accommodating the large lorries transporting caravans in and out of the site. Additionally, given its proximity to a popular beach, there was a pressing need to prevent unauthorised access without inconveniencing guests.
THE SOLUTION
We became involved with Broughton Farm Caravan Park in 2022, initially maintaining the access control and road-blocker systems. By 2023, WPS had designed and implemented a new access control system featuring road blockers to efficiently manage entry to the park. Given the park’s unique location and operational requirements, we designed a system of road blockers instead of traditional barriers. This solution was optimal for allowing large lorries to transport caravans while maintaining security for the park. The system effectively controls access, enhancing security without inconveniencing guests.
WHY BROUGHTON FARM CARAVAN PARK CHOSE WPS
The family-run park required a solution that could provide security without compromising on accessibility for guests. WPS’s ability to tailor the access control system to the park’s unique needs, including site restrictions and operational requirements, made them the ideal choice.
